Founded - now

1907

Apr Shosaku Morita established the "Fire Protection Association" as his privately-run business in Minami-ku, Osaka City (the current Nishi-Shinsaibashi, Chuo-ku, Osaka City) and started production and sales of fire extinguishers and fire pumps.

1910

May Created Japan's first fire pump with a gasoline engine, thereby spearheading mechanization in the firefighting industry.

1912

Oct Changed the trade name to Morita Seisakusho Ltd. Shosaku Morita assumed the role of representative.

1917

Developed Japan's first fire truck.

1922

Apr Shosaku Morita visited Europe for six months to inspect the research activities in fire trucks and obtained sole distribution rights in the East for Benz Motors in Germany.

1932

Jul Established Morita Gasoline Pump Seisakusho Co., Ltd. (our company).

1939

Sep Changed the trade name to Morita Pump Kogyo.Co.,Ltd.

1944

Jun Established a factory in Ikuno-ku, Osaka City, which focused on the manufacture of various fire pumps.

1957

Dec Developed a 12m hydraulically-operated ladder truck.

1960

Sep Started business in the fire extinguisher market.

1961

Mar Changed the trade name to Morita Fire Pump MFG. Co.,Ltd.

1970

Oct Developed the first folding articulated water tower (Squirt Vehicle) in the East through collaboration with a U.S. company, the Snorkel Fire Equipment Company, and exported the first vehicle to Thailand.

1971

Dec Developed Japan's first 40m ladder truck.

1973

May Listed on the Second Section of the Osaka Securities Exchange.

1979

May Listed on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

1980

Apr Upgraded to the First Section in both the Osaka Securities Exchange and the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

1985

Apr Developed a new ladder truck, "Super Gyro Ladder MLEX5-30," which was equipped with various safety tools including a gyro device to automatically correct ladder inclination.

1991

Sep Developed a "ladder truck with a specially-designed MH type chassis," a chassis exclusively developed for fire trucks. Honored with the first Good Design Award for a fire truck.

1993

Oct Established Sanda Factory (the current Sanda-West Factory) in Techno Park in Sanda City, Hyogo Prefecture.

1994

Apr Started business with recycling facilities, waste handling facilities, and other areas of the environmental business field.

1994

Nov Established Ueno Factory in Ueno City (present Iga City), Mie Prefecture.

1997

Apr Changed the trade name to MORITA CORPORATION.

2001

Aug Concluded a tie-up concerning capital-related operations with Miyata Industry Co., Ltd.

2002

Oct Successfully customized expired fire extinguishing agents by recycling them as material in the fertilizer's production.

2007

Jul Developed "Miracle CAFS Car," a new fire truck.

2008

Apr Established Sanda New Factory (the current Sanda-East Factory) in Techno Park in Sanda City, Hyogo Prefecture, and relocated the function of the main factory (Ikuno-ku, Osaka City) to this new factory.

2008

Oct The holding company was established through a spin-off and the trade name was changed to MORITA HOLDINGS CORPORATION accordingly.

2013

May Moved the Osaka Head Office to Dosho-machi, Chuo-ku, Osaka City (present location).

2014

Jul MORITA BOHSAI TECH CORPORATION merged with MIYATA INDUSTRY CO.,LTD. to form MORITA MIYATA CORPORATION.

2016

Jan Acquired Finland's BRONTO SKYLIFT OY AB.
