

More than a half of the fire trucks currently deployed in Japan were manufactured at our Sanda Factory. Sanda Factory, equipped with the state-of-the-art machineries, is one of the largest fire truck factories in Asia. The most sophisticated and high-end fire fighting and rescue vehicles, such as ladder trucks for high-rise rescue operations, "Miracle CAFS Cars" developed with cutting-edge fire fighting technology, the world's first ever Fire Fighting Ambulance (FFA), three-sides opening/closing REDSEAGULL designed to ease fire fighting in narrow areas, and many other conventional and next-generation fire trucks are manufactured here at Sanda Factory. Yearly production of more than 700 trucks ensures the supply of highly reliable fire trucks to domestic and overseas fire brigades.
Overhaul section of Sanda Factory offers a complete and thorough overhaul for the vehicles in service for more than seven years. The overhaul, comprising of disassembly, cleaning, replacement of spare parts, updating of equipments and systems, etc., prolongs vehicle's deployment life and enables a continued safe operation.
Water discharge test facility equipped with a 10m deep-water tank and most advanced measurement and calculation systems. This facility allows testing of 10 trucks at a time.

Simulates rough road to check and evaluate vehicle's quality and strength. It consists of two patterns of rough roads: one with even bumps and other with staggered swaying. The road stretches to 52 m and has 768 bumps of 130 mm in diameter and 50 mm in height.
Two inclinations of 25% and 50% are available to test vehicle for 27 degrees gradeability. Climbing and parking brakes capabilities of a vehicle can be tested.
The tilt table allows testing a vehicle of overall length 9m, overall width 3.5m and maximum weight of 44t to a tilt of 40 degrees.
Water and foam are discharged from a distance of 120m aiming a circle of 40m in diameter. Additionally, the used water is collected in a 100m3 underground tank and processed to prevent any adverse effects on the environment.
Driving and braking performance of all trucks is tested on a specialized 200m course.











The main ladder unit and fixtures are removed from the truck.
As damage to the gyro turntable can lead to serious accidents, disassembly and modification of the gyro turntable is one of the most important operations of the maintenance process.
